Embroidered patch - Tibet, Tibetan flag, patch is fully embroidered
The Tibetan flag, developed by the Dalai Lama XIII, was in 1912-1950 the former flag of independent Tibet. After the Chinese invasion of Tibet in 1950, the use or possession of the flag was banned because it symbolized his freedom. In 1958 it was established as the official flag of the Tibetan Government in Exile. The Tibetan flag adopted as a symbol of the struggle for independence.

Symbolism of the Tibetan flag:
- Himalayas - a white mountain in the middle of the flag that separates Tibet from the Indian Subcontinent.
- The six red stripes in the blue sky are Tibetan tribes: Se, Mu, Dong, Tong, Dru and Ra.
- Two snow lions supporting a jewel mean a balance between spiritual and secular life.
- The jewel is the respect of Tibetans for Buddha, Dharma and Sangha.
- The yellow (or gold) border of the flag symbolizes the spread and flowering of Buddha's teachings.
