Flag of the Cocos (Keeling) Islands

The territory of the Cocos Islands is located in the Indian Ocean and is part of Oceania, although according to the geographical location of the islands they should be in Asia. Two coral atolls (North Keeling Islands and South Keeling Islands) are mostly covered with coconut palm, which is the basis of the country's economy and therefore its symbol is on the flag with the sun in the background. Arranged with stars, the south cross refers to the connection with Australia, while the moon pointing to the right - the influence of Islam.
