Vorarlberg is a state in western Austria. It is a mountainous area, located entirely in the Alps, with the capital in Bregenz. Cheese making is a trademark of this region, along with high-mountain tourism.

The coat of arms adopted in 1923 shows the banner of Montfort - the counts of this territory in the past. On a white shield there is a red church flag hanging vertically with three stripes ending with black fringes. Each belt has horizontal black stripes, and the whole thing hangs on three red rings.
