The Vatican is a country located in Southern Europe, on the Apennine Peninsula. It is the smallest country in the world when it comes to space. At the beginning of the 19th century, Pope Pius VII recognized the yellow and white colors as papal colors. The flag was officially adopted on June 7, 1929.
Flag divided into two equal and vertical stripes. Colors on the Vatican flag:
golden (yellow) field - a symbol of gold or sun, which is supposed to reflect something divine, a symbol of wealth and goodness,
white field (formerly silver) - this is cleanliness. On the white part there are 2 keys (gold and silver), which are connected at the bottom with a red rope, above them there is a papal tiara.
